Tuna Bay is no longer the vibrant island it once was. You decide to investigate. Are you prepared for the adventure that awaits?

The player enters the world with very little information and they are free to explore. They can travel the islands as they please, however, certain experiences require certain inventory that they gain along the way.

Process:
I wanted the player to enter the world with little knowledge of what’s going on, and the freedom to do what they want. Hopefully the mystery is enticing enough to explore. While the game has a number of required actions to solve the mystery, the player can travel freely for the most part. Certain elements are locked until they collect the inventory to unlock it. And some adventures will be for naught if they attempt them without being properly equipped.

Perhaps the flaw in this version is that the player is guided to a single end state. However, where I focused my energies was on having islands and people “remember.” This way, the player is free to approach the world any way they want, and the game will display altered states, depending on whether the player has visited before or visited with different inventory.
